Toxic Text Style
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.
In this tutorial I will be teaching you how to create a cool toxic effect on your text like this:

To start out create a big new document. Now using the text tool write out whatever you want made “toxic“. I used he font Eurose on size 72 because I have a big document but you can use whatever tickles you’re fancy.

Now that you have your text laid out Rasterize your text by going to Layer > Rasterize > Type. Now duplicate your text layer. You will need it again. Now while you have your Bottom text layer selected (the one that isn’t the duplicate) hit Ctrl-E. This should merge your bottom 2 layers together. Now go to Image > Adjustments > Invert. You should have something like this:

Now go to Image > Rotate canvas > Rotate 90 CW. Then go to Filter > Stylize > Wind. Make sure it is coming from the Left and is set on wind. Once you do that filter do the same filter again with the same settings.

Now go to Image > Rotate Canvas > Rotate 90 CCW. Then go to Filter > Distort > Ripple. Use these settings:
Amount: 50
Medium.
Now do the same filter one more time with the same settings.

Now select you Duplicated text layer. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius: 10.1
Then hit Ctrl-E to merge all the layers together.
Now Press Ctrl-U. Make sure the colorize box is checked. Now insert these settings.
Hue: 139
Saturation: 63
Lightness: 1
You should have something like this now:

Congratulations you finished my tutorial on how to create Toxic looking text.

james, you probably have your work in grayscale. Try going into image>mode> then RBG Color.
Hope that worked
